As Australia’s largest family-owned and operated moving relocation and storage company, Kent Relocation Group has taken the initiative to run the business as usual during this pandemic. All of our operational staff and contractors are committed to being 100% double vaccinated. This ensures the safety of our staff and all our customers. As an essential service, we want to reassure all businesses and home residents that all our branches across Australia remain open.
With a national team of over 400 employees, our commitment to quality, customer satisfaction, safety and the environment remains at the forefront of our daily operation. We as an organisation take this pandemic seriously and remain confident in our ability to help all businesses and people during these challenging times.
At Kent, safety has remained one of our core values with over 75 years of service Australia wide. It underpins everything we do. We are committed to ensuring the safety of our staff, businesses and customers through having all staff fully vaccinated. To assist in this process, Kent has offered employees who are vaccinated an additional one-half day of paid special leave to be vaccinated. In addition to this, a further two days of paid special leave will be approved if needed.
We are serious about our Covid-19 safety procedures, including the implementation of a National Covid Safe Plan to ensure we minimise risk to our customers and staff. We have provided all our crews with face masks, hand sanitisers and disinfectant wipes to help follow safe Covid practices. If you are interested in learning more about our covid safe procedures you can read more here.
Don’t just take our word for it, Kent’s past actions have ultimately proved how seriously we take our Covid safe responsibility. Kent guarantees the cleanliness of our state of the art facilities as well as trucks, utes and containers. We have gone above and beyond to deep clean our facilities as well as sanitise all vehicles and containers for complete peace of mind.
Kent remains focused on providing in-home quotes to ensure accuracy and transparency to our clients, with our external sales team taking all necessary safety precautions. Kent’s team has undertaken approximately 40,000 in-home surveys since the start of the pandemic.
With increased interstate restrictions, the Kent team has assisted in 48,000 moves for both businesses and people relocating during these tough times. Since March 2020, Kent has assisted in keeping people and businesses’ treasures moving across the border via rail. As a result, we have not been affected by the border closures and have minimised the risk of covid exposure. With branch locations Australia wide, we have dedicated crews in each State, Territory and Regional hubs to ensure you and the community have a dedicated team to help you move. If further lockdowns or the unexpected happens, rest assured Kent has the facilities to hold your items in safekeeping until you are ready to receive your goods.
How can you move interstate?
Currently, State Governments have restrictions on cross border movements. This does not affect Kent as we have dedicated crews in each State, Territory and Regional Hubs. We send goods via rail so are not disrupted by ongoing border closures.
How to get an in-home quote?
Kent remains dedicated to providing in-home quotes to ensure accuracy and transparency to our clients. If you are wanting to get a quote, get in contact with us here and speak to one of our friendly sales consultants. If the volume and type of your move require an in-home survey we will be happy to assist in organising a suitable day for one of our external sales consultants to come out while taking necessary Covid safe precautions.
Are all Kent branch locations open?
Kent remains committed to ensuring the safety of our staff and clients as a result of this, extra precautions are currently in place in branches in cities that are currently in lockdown to ensure we comply with government requirements. Most of our branch locations are open for business as usual.
How quickly can storage be organised for you?
In order to guarantee availability when booking in your storage or relocation, Kent prefers as much notice as possible to ensure that we can plan and carry out your move in a professional manner. However, due to the size of our fleet and national operational capacity we often have the ability to pick up at short notice. Over the course of the pandemic, Kent has seen an increase in short notice moves in which we have been able to assist.
Which Kent staff are vaccinated?
Kent is committed to ensuring a safe working environment for its staff, contractors and the public in general. Safety extends beyond just the depot but anywhere our employees undertake work. This includes other depots or business premises, customer’s homes and even the home of employees working remotely. Kent is currently taking the steps to get all staff double vaccinated from our on-road crew to administrative employees who work remotely.
